For The Best of Your Life
We’ve all heard the statement, “Use it or lose it.” When “it” refers to our abilities and skills, it’s true. When we put our skills to good use, we promote sustainability and improvement. When we put our talents on a shelf, we invite atrophy and decay.
The same is true for our bodies. The human body has 600 muscles and from our 206 bones, we are comprised of about 360 joints for mobility. We were made for more than sitting, standing and lying down. While we all have hundreds of muscles and joints, every body is uniquely woven and knit together by Divine design. From the top of our heads to the tips of our toes, yoga can provide the necessary movement we all need to keep our bodies healthy. Many think they need to have a lot of flexibility to do yoga however, yoga is not partial to loose hamstrings, body size or gender. It’s only prerequisite is an open mind. If you practice yoga with patience and perseverance, with an open mind, the body will follow. You’ll gain the full range of motion, muscle strength and elasticity that’s best for your body, and feel more alive in your body for having done so.
One of our greatest gifts as reasoning and critical thinking human beings is that of choice. Even when we can’t change our circumstances, we can choose our responses to them. We were created for a purpose. Our choices determine whether we navigate our purpose-driven life, or become a passenger to it. We have the power to bolster our wellbeing, or not; enhance our health and fitness, or not; and grow what’s good in our lives to greatness, or not. Why would you “not” when you can choose otherwise? What are you doing for the best of your life?
Discover what makes you more YOU. Be curious. Be creative. Be fearless to explore what you love about being you. Activate your being to doing. Make a wish list of all the things you dream of and from that, make a want list of a few items to develop and pursue. Then create your to-do list and take productive actions that lead you step-by-step toward achieving your purpose.
Feeling your best is a big part of living your best life. We inhabit biodynamic bodies. We can influence the level of prana or life force within us by the way we fuel our bodies. The quality of our inhales and exhales determines our body’s vitality. Physical activity is necessary for healthy vital systems, muscles and joints. The foods and beverages we choose to ingest all add or subtract life force from our bodies. Good choices for your body are within your control. Choose what promotes you becoming more - YOU.
